The Auto Expo 2010-Hyundai Targets Children With This Educative Idea

New Delhi: The Hyundai Motor pavilion at the 10th Auto Expo is buzzing with excitement and fun. The occasion is the unveiling of a unique ‘Hyundai Safety Zone’ targeted especially at the children. Aimed at inculcating safe driving habits in school going children, Hyundai Safety Zone showcases Hyundai’s move towards a more participation-oriented and interactive format at the Auto Expo.

At the Hyundai Safety Zone, the children will get to drive around in battery driven cars (replicas of the Genesis Coupe displayed in the Hyundai Pavilion) while learning the nuances of road safety. The entire Safety Zone will be an interactive fun-filled zone with special programs that will make it even more attractive to children. Featuring simulations of different real life driving situation e.g traffic signals, overhead pedestrian bridge, passing through tunnels, negotiating turns and even a license booth, the children will get the real taste of driving through this specially created ‘Hyundai Safety Zone’.

The Hyundai Safety Zone will have representatives from Institute of Road & Traffic Education (IRTE) a Delhi based NGO which is involved with road safety issues and Hyundai Student Traffic Squad, (the Hyundai sponsored traffic volunteer group which helps the Delhi Police) to assist the children with traffic rules and signage’s. To make the experience memorable and more life-like, IRTE will also issue special licenses to children who adhere to the traffic rules and display good driving skills.

Hyundai has collaborated with Disney movie ‘Cars’ to screen the movie at the Movie zone. The Safety Zone also features a special Audio-Visual on ‘Road Safety’ as well as a Gaming Zone where the kids can learn about some safe driving techniques through gaming.

Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Saxena, Director (Marketing & Sales), HMIL, said, “Hyundai always believes in ‘Safety first’. This also reflects in the products that we offer to our customers for instance the i20 that has won the European NCAP 5 star rating for safety. Through the unique Safety Zone, we reaffirm our commitment towards road safety. The Safety Zone will help us educate the children about road safety at an early age, so that it becomes a habit with them, and stays with them always. We are also happy to partner with Disney Pixar ‘Cars’ to promote this initiative.”

Being the conscientious corporate citizen, HMIL is fully aware that the automobile industry can play a vital role in improving the road safety conditions.
